Infographic Research

How to make your own cup of tea ?

After researching about Tea and 1950's women I thought the 50's would be a nice time frame to start in because women were suppose to be perfect house wives, so they would know a lot  about tea and would have to try and make the perfect cup  of tea. The research I found broadened my expectations and opened up the doors of possibly a infographic about gender roles and circulating around the 50's and how women were more than just tea makers they were involved in helping in the war during the 40's and how they started up another uprising in the 60's about gender equality.

I think that I would like to create an info-graphic that looks on women stepping out of their traditional role. With a main character who is situated in the 50's she is for example suzy home maker and she is making tea for her family and a voice over introduces her. And explains that she is great at making tea even while in a factory making bomb shells to working at the waaf her tea is better that the rest. The concept will follow her through the 40-60's and speak about how suzy was even making tea while marching in the women's liberation movement. I want the info graphic to be informative about women's rights and how they changed things for the better but to be comical and light hearted.

I was also looking at 1950's cartoons and I think that this would be a charming style that the infographic would lean towards in its illustrative forms. I think I would like to focus on a strong line art style and combining it with the graphic styles of the 50's especially 50's font. I like the line style in rooty toot toot  I think that image 4, 3 and 2 really sums up the style I would want the infographic to follow which is the cell shaded look. I also like image 6 and 7 in terms of environment design overall the style I am thinking about which is very illustrative with a focus on the line work.  Image 8 and 9 are fonts and graphics that are associated with the 50's and I think that this mixture of the graphics with the illustratations will work well for the infographic.
