Animation Progression, Lighting and Assets update

Additional Assets also had to be created for some of the scenes that I will be tackling  two simple crows were created and textured

The Reins had a IK made to help control them that is parented unde the wrist of the father and additional controls to help unpick the reins when they pentrated the horse's geometry

The Horse Father and Son Animation

Alan told me to push a few of the key frames in the horse from the last update on the Horse and I think that it is now working smoother and more fluid as an animation. I also added the bounce of the the father and son

Final Horse Run Cycle

I offset some of the keys in the neck pelvis tail and legs to try and a create a more fluid animation and I think that I was able to capture it.

Horse Animation test

I have been trrying to clean up the graph editor for the animaiton on the Horse creating a smoother cycle I think now it needs the legs to be offset a little more.

My attempt at layering the characters on the horse, I need to now clean up the animation to get rid  of the popping

Horse Animation Progression

I tried to push the neck out more and push the keyframes for the run cycle this is the result.

Horse Run Cycle Progression

The right front leg still needs work but the other legs seem to be flowing correctly but there is still more refining to be done.

Father and Horse Animation Test

Today I attempted to get the father and the Horse working together but, I will be focussing on the horse again without the father to really get his animation loop working correctly focussing on the horses performance of a run cycle.

Horse Texture Progression

Texturing Progression

The algorithm had to be pushed until it worked in the correct areas I focussed on the ears to allow me to see if it was working correctly

The specularity on the horse made him feel like porcelain, so the specular maps were needed in order to tone things down.
The saddle had to be tattered and the blanket underneath also had to feel worn so I used the transparency maps to push the tattered look.

I wanted the reins and the horse overall to keep the qualities of the consept art. Transparency maps helped me retain the look that the concept art pushed.
Testing the image planes and the horse texture

The Horse has a seam in the front legs and I had to play with the texture until it blended

I wanted to push out some of the muscles of the horse in a subtle way from left to right shows the prgression of trying to capture this

The Horse: Skinned and Facial Rig Completed

I had to redo the front legs because the pole vector was no longer working. I also gave the horse teeth and tongue controls

The Reins gave me a few problems and I know that it is temporary because it still needs to do more in terms of the rig that I have applied. The image to the right was my first attempt but it failed to work in terms of its functionality. The Rig to the left is what I made to replace it it is temporary and because its functionality needs to be able to connect and flow with the head as well as give the rider the freedom to move it also.

I also gave the horse a facial rig that added into the pose library the nose flare.

I also gave the horse lip curl controls

The Horse: UV and Rigging Progression

The Horse UV and the progression of the horse rig so far I wanted to post my progression so far even though that the rear legs need to be fixed. I have created the skeleton, shoulder and leg controls  and the tail control.

I wanted the horse to be as seam free as possible therefore connecting the head with the body.

@ Alan_ Pole Vector Constraint Issues

Hi Alan when I constrain my pole vectors they make the rear knee joints pop out of place
